Most American adults are getting their news from social media — overtaking traditional journalism: survey

Americans are getting the majority of their news from social media, according to a new report. Syracuse University’s Center for the Creator Economy found in its latest monthly Flash Report that social media platforms have overtaken traditional TV news as the most frequently cited source of political and election news among adults surveyed. The survey of 1,001 adults found that 59% regularly get their news from social media, while 55% turn to those platforms for political information.
