Brett Baty playing like ‘kind of player’ he can be in hot final stretch of Mets’ season

MIAMI — Brett Baty finished strong last season, leading to optimism within the Mets he had finally arrived as a player.   But for much of this year the 26-year-old utility player appeared lost at the plate. And yet, before he could be completely written off, Baty is again surging late in the season, reminding team officials of his value.
