Convicted Hitler-loving haute-couture designer John Galliano finally caved to outcry on Monday and bowed out of a planned Met Gala celebration for him — a move that also delivered a swift kick in the chiffon to powerhouse benefactor Anna Wintour. “After much reflection and discussion with all those involved, I have decided, with great sadness, that it is best for the exhibition not to take place at this time,’’ the toppled trend-setter said in a statement.
