Lost in the Red Sox’s magical run is their top prospect, who hasn’t forgotten the doubters. Roman Anthony hasn’t been seen in the big leagues since May 4, and the Red Sox haven’t missed him one bit, turning from a middling franchise into baseball’s best team in July while Anthony has been out with a partially torn ligament/tendon in his ring finger. Anthony suffered many setbacks in rehab, and before the Red Sox season turned around, questions surrounded his injury, initially reported as a wrist issue before it was later changed to a finger ailment with multiple MRI exams and specialists getting involved.
