The Mets’ new era under interim manager Andy Green has not exactly gotten off to a bang. Following a 9-3 loss to the Blue Jays on Wednesday and going a holiday-weekend four-game series in Atlanta, the Mets (36-51) have won just two of his first six games in charge — taking them ever further away from an already far-fetched wild-card spot. While Green spoke about instilling “joy” and being “willing to challenge” his players at a passionate introductory press conference last week, he can only do so much with what looks to be a middling roster.
