Federal officials order flight cuts at Chicago O’Hare to reduce airport delays

About 300 flights per day must be cut from the schedule at Chicago O’Hare International Airport on the busiest days this summer in an effort to reduce flight delays, federal officials announced Thursday. “If you book a ticket, we want you and your family to have the certainty that you’ll fly without endless delays and cancellations,” Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said in a statement. O’Hare has the most number of flights of any US airport, and it already had one of the worst records for flight delays nationwide last year.
