Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons submitted a resignation letter to DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin on Thursday and plans to step down from the agency at the end of May, according to reports. In his resignation letter, Lyons said he intends to spend more time with his family and sons as they reach “a pivotal point in their lives” — and added that it’s been a privilege to serve under President Trump, according to a copy reviewed by The New York Times. “My sons are both reaching a pivotal point in their lives, and my wife and I wish to spend as much time as possible with them,” he wrote.
