Los Angeles transit workers were forced to install large metal gates on freeway ramps to prevent rowdy agitators from taking to the city’s busy roadways during Saturday’s “No Kings” protests. Transit workers were seen putting up several gates at on- and off-ramps along the 101 Freeway in downtown LA, where violent protesters swarmed and blocked traffic during anti-ICE riots in June. The California Department of Transportation erected the gates as a “proactive safety measure” to keep demonstrators from entering the freeway and blocking traffic, officials told CBS News.
