A 68-year-old Long Island man apparently shot his girlfriend to death and then took his own life in a brutal murder inside the home they shared, cops said. The bodies of Paul Trefimovich, 68, and his partner Valerie Kopetic, 63, were found by police who were called to do a welfare check at their home in Port Jefferson after Kopetic didn’t show up for work, Suffolk County police said. Cops found a couple dead inside their Port Jefferson home in what appears to be a murder-suicide, Suffolk police said.
