It is likely the Jefry Yan experience is finished, at least for this season. The Mets optioned the entertaining but wild left-hander, needing another arm (Tobias Myers) and needing to see more strikes from Yan. One of the more fun stories to come out of garbage time for the Mets, Yan — a 30-year-old who was out of baseball from 2016-20, when he worked in part as a roofer, then returned with appreciation and a signature leap following strikeouts — finally celebrated his way to the majors in early August, when he demonstrated strong stuff and a fastball that can touch triple digits.
