A suspected arsonist was busted setting a new fire near where more than 200,000 acres burned near the California-Nevada border, police said. Damien Pineda-Contreras, 29, was arrested and booked on a felony charge of third-degree arson after police caught him with lighter fluid and fire starters in north Reno over the weekend, according to the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office. 5 The combined Hawk, Bug, and Stallion Fires burning in August scorched more than 228,000 acres.
