The injury-riddled 49ers finally got some good news. Top free-agent acquisition Mike Evans is expected to play Week 1 when the team opens the season in Melbourne, Australia, against the Los Angeles Rams, per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. Evans has spent most of training camp dealing with injuries, most recently a groin injury that kept him on the sideline during their practice on Tuesday.
