How Polygon's Coinme Acquisition Is Poised to Accelerate the Next Generation of Fintech Super Apps

In January 2026, Polygon Labs announced agreements to acquire crypto payments firm Coinme and wallet infrastructure provider Sequence for more than $250 million. The Coinme transaction is expected to close in Q2 2026, pending regulatory approval. The dual acquisition will complete an infrastructure stack that gives banks, fintechs, and enterprises something that hasn't existed before in the digital asset space: the first regulated end-to-end platform for moving money between traditional financial systems and blockchain rails.
