Brendan Sorsby barred from playing in the CFL in latest setback after gambling scandal

Another 2026 opportunity is off the table for Brendan Sorsby. The former Texas Tech quarterback, who unsuccessfully tried to join the NFL this year, has been barred from competing in the CFL in the upcoming season, the league said in a statement to USA Today on Friday.   “Upholding the integrity of the league and ensuring fair competition are paramount to the CFL,” the CFL said.
