The US and Iran have reached a peace deal to end their three-and-a-half month-old war, President Trump announced Sunday evening. The Strait of Hormuz, which carries 20% of the world’s oil, is set to reopen on Friday when a deal is signed in Switzerland, officials said. “The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
