Most of the USA men’s national team’s starting 11 was set in stone heading into its June 12 World Cup debut match against Paraguay at SoFi Stadium. The biggest question was which Matt would be in goal when the game began. Team USA has two quality goalkeepers, with one being Matt Turner (who was the United States’ goalkeeper for the 2022 World Cup and did a solid job) and Matt Freese, who has been a key part of Team USA over the past year or so.
