A suspected car thief used a daring escape tactic as police chased him along a Southern California freeway early Friday morning. The driver, who was being pursued by California Highway Police officers, crawled onto the roof of the allegedly stolen white Mercedes-Benz as it was rolling along the 605 and 91 freeway interchange in Cerritos before hopping off and making a run for it. The driver was pursued by CHP officers, and crawled onto the roof of the car.
