Some GOP insiders are livid at 2025 mayoral candidate Curtis Sliwa for cozying up to Mayor Zohran Mamdani in a cat-centric comedy skit — claiming the Guardian Angels founder “betrayed” them. Sliwa, the red beret-wearing founder of the vigilante Guardian Angels and self-appointed guardian of Gotham’s felines, teamed up with the democratic socialist mayor in a pre-recorded video at this year’s Inner Circle show — a musical political parody for charity.
