US shoots down ‘aggressive’ Iranian drone approaching USS Abraham Lincoln, CENTCOM says

American forces shot down an Iranian drone over the Arabian Sea Tuesday after it “aggressively approached” the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, the military’s Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed. The Shahed-139 aircraft was flying toward the carrier “with unclear intent” when it was shot down by an F-35 fighter jet launched from the USS Lincoln “to protect the aircraft carrier and personnel on board,” the Qatar-based command said in a statement. “No American service members were harmed during the incident, and no US equipment was damaged.
