A New Jersey woman suffered “catastrophic and permanent injuries” in a car crash caused by an allegedly drunk NYPD officer who opened fire during a road rage incident, she said in a lawsuit. Stephanie Hummel was left with a collapsed lung, numerous fractures and “permanent cardiac disfunction” after off-duty Officer Hieu Tran shot another driver in southern New Jersey, sending the man’s vehicle careening into hers, according to Manhattan federal court papers.
