Andy Green reunited with coaching buddy Johnny Washington on Mets’ hitting staff

The Mets are tapping into manager Andy Green’s past to fill out their coaching staff. Johnny Washington, who had coached alongside Green both in San Diego and Chicago, will be hired as a co-hitting coach for the Mets, as The Post’s Joel Sherman first reported Thursday. Last season, Washington served as the minor league hitting coordinator for the Braves.
