The ex-cop charged with gunning down a beloved Con Ed worker in a road-rage encounter on the George Washington Bridge was a driver for the wealthy CEO of an investment company – and was behind the wheel of the company’s Range Rover SUV at the time. Former NYPD detective Victor Romero had been working private security jobs since he left New York’s Finest in 2001, and was currently working for the biotech and energy investment firm QVT Financial as driver for CEO Dan Gold, law enforcement sources told The Post. Police officers and investigators gathered on the George Washington Bridge at night near a police vehicle and the Range Rover driven by the alleged shooter.
