Rangers netminder Igor Shesterkin scores first goalie goal in franchise history

Igor Shesterkin didn’t know if he could celebrate. He couldn’t tell if he’d made history after the puck bounced off the boards and went right to his stick, allowing him to flip it down the ice toward the Lightning’s empty net.   As Shesterkin realized he’d done it, the goalie pumped his stick in the air as nearly half of the Rangers bench surrounded him and the scene he’d created — the one he’d been trying to manifest for years — settled into place.
