The brother-in-law of an NYPD detective killed in the line of duty vowed Wednesday to continue his heroic “legacy” of helping those in need. Sabbir Ahmed was sworn in alongside 754 recruits at the Police Academy in Queens — almost exactly 14 months after Didarul Islam was gunned down in the horrific mass shooting on Park Avenue. “It was my dream job to become a police officer and [I] want to [carry on] my brother-in-law’s legacy,” Ahmed, 27, told The Post after the ceremony.
