A teenage illegal migrant has been sentenced to just under three years in federal prison after a wildly viral video caught him and a friend using AR-style rifles to spray more than 100 shots from a Dallas bridge as revelers gathered to watch New Year’s Eve fireworks. Mexican national Jose Alarcon Sanchez, 18, had entered the US in May 2025, then illegally stayed once his temporary visa ran out, the Department of Justice said Monday. He was then filmed just hours into the new year as he and another man “took turns filming each other firing black rifles over the side of” the Margaret McDermott Bridge as revelers mingled below — with around 100 cartridge casings found at the scene.
