California healthcare company abruptly slashes 700 jobs

A Los Angeles-based healthcare provider announced it was laying off more than 700 people. 24 Hour Home Care announced that it was permanently axing 738 workers from the company, which offers daily living and personal care support for veterans and people with disabilities. The firm, which employs roughly 30,000 caregivers across California, said the cuts would take effect on Sept.
