Tony Romo blamed his recent OWI arrest, in part, on multiple back surgeries undergone as an active player. Former NFL quarterback Ryan Leaf took issue with that reasoning. Romo explained in a statement Tuesday that because of all the pain endured during various procedures, he developed an “over-reliance on alcohol” and it led to the ex-Cowboys quarterback being placed behind bars in July.
