WASHINGTON — A defiant Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas declared himself a “walking contradiction” to his critics for refusing to bow to social pressure for black Americans to have liberal political views. The high court’s second-longest-serving justice in US history explained in a podcast interview how he’s resisted pressure over the decades as one of the most prominent black conservative figures in the country. “When I came to this town, one of the greatest difficulties, if you think about it, was that there were those who thought that I should think a certain way,” Thomas, 78, lamented on the “Verdict with Ted Cruz” podcast.
