A solid majority of the rapidly growing New York City Democratic Socialists of America (NYC-DSA) self-identifies as white — despite the far-left faction touting itself as champions of diversity and inclusivity, according to a new survey. The Big Apple chapter, whose membership includes Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Queens Congresswoman and “Squad” member Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, is 60% white, an internal demographic survey of its members found. That makes the socialist organization considerably less racially diverse than the New York City population — and even the Democratic Party as a whole.
