Meta launches new AI in push for best open source model to beat China

Meta released a new artificial intelligence model Monday as CEO Mark Zuckerberg called on Washington to lower barriers for US open-source developers to help them beat Chinese rivals. Muse Glimmer AI was made available for developers to download and run on their own hardware — as the company said it plans in the coming weeks to open the weights for a version of Muse Spark 1. 2, which it described as one of the world’s leading foundation models.
