A crew of subway riders who say they’ve been overcharged and issued phantom fines on their MTA-issued OMNY cards want the state’s top prosecutor to investigate the alleged debacle, The Post has learned. The group Passengers United told The Post they are organizing rallies outside Attorney General Letitia James’ office to push for a probe into the tap-and-go fare system they claim hit hundreds of New Yorkers with overcharges and improper fees. “We want them to investigate [system developer] Cubic for defects with OMNY, including overcharges, [and that] it doesn’t show payments leading to erroneous fines from fare inspectors,” group president Charlton D’Souza told The Post.
