Fill-in starter Robert Stock’s strong outing not enough as Mets lose again to Marlins after Freddy Peralta trade

The first major shake-up in a trade deadline sell-off by the Mets occurred during Sunday’s 2-0 loss to Miami, as Freddy Peralta said goodbye to Queens, sent to Tampa Bay.   Clay Holmes pitched for Single-A Brooklyn instead of in Queens, as the Mets chose not to end his rehab assignment, even after the right-hander said he was “more than ready” to be in the majors after recovering from a fractured right fibula.   His next start is likely to be with a different organization.
