San Francisco has seen a major increase in homicides so far this year amid a historic national decline in murder rates. San Francisco’s murder rate increased 55% over the first six months of the year compared to 2025, according to a new report. TNS The City by the Bay was one of only eight major cities to see homicides increase during the first half of 2026, according to the Council on Criminal Justice.
