A Las Vegas sportsbook employee allegedly bet he could rob his own workplace and get away with it — then made one catastrophically bad wager by returning for his next shift carrying nearly all the evidence, according to a stunning report. The newly hired employee allegedly threatened staff with a knife while stealing roughly $28,000 from the William Hill Sportsbook at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas last week, local insider Scott Roeben reported on his VitalVegas blog. The masked suspect fled with the cash, but surveillance footage exposed a glaring hole in his plan.
