An 18-year-old woman was shot in the chest on a New York City subway platform late Sunday by a masked man who tried to snatch her purse, according to police. The teenager was waiting on the platform at the President Street-Medgar Evers College Station in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, when the armed man opened fire while trying to rob her around 11:45 p. m.
