Mark Vientos headed to IL after taking pitch off hand in painful Mets scene

The Mets will be without Mark Vientos for a bit after he exited Thursday’s game against the Royals. Vientos suffered a fractured right hand after being hit by a Michael Wacha pitch as he checked a swing during the second inning. Neither the extent of the injury — nor the length of his IL stint — are known.
