WASHINGTON — Vice President JD Vance and the Department of Labor’s watchdog announced a probe Wednesday into foreigners exploiting worker visas in the US in the latest crackdown on fraudsters. At an anti-fraud event in Milwaukee Wednesday, Vance said labor officials fired off dozens of subpoenas for the investigation, so the Trump administration can ensure “American jobs … go to American workers and not foreign fraudsters. ” Labor Department Inspector General Anthony D’Esposito told The Post that the recipients of the worker visas have been used to bilk the medical industry to the tune of “hundreds of millions” of dollars as well as other employment sectors — while being run at times by forced-labor networks and human traffickers.
