Gavin Newsom unleashed a defensive social media tirade Friday, lashing out at President Trump, the Justice Department and The California Post after reporting highlighted political ties between FBI informant Alexis Podesta and the California governor. In a lengthy X post by the Governor’s Press Office, the administration accused “MAGA bootlickers” of spreading “false information” while insisting there is “no evidence” connecting Newsom to the federal corruption investigation that ensnared his former chief of staff, Dana Williamson, in part due to Podesta wearing a wire, according to Williamson’s attorney.
