One woman was killed and two other people were seriously injured in a weeklong spree of alligator attacks in Florida — all of them miles from the Sunshine State waterfront. In the latest attack, a 31-year-old woman was swimming with friends in the Econlockhatchee River at the Little Big Econ State Forest — nearly 30 miles from the coast — when she was mauled by an alligator around 1:30 p. m.
