Philosophy 101: If a Met breaks his arm in the forest and there’s no one there, does it make a sound?  Though baseball fans knew that White Sox irregular outfielder Luis Robert Jr. is a highly fragile and unreliable performer, the Mets volunteered to pay the remaining $20 million on this year’s contract to have him play center field those days and nights when he’s able or in the mood.   In his previous three seasons, Robert had twice gone down for long stretches on the injured list — first a hamstring injury, then a hip injury — while explaining his disinclination to run the bases — including to first base — as a matter of avoiding pain.
