BOSTON — After a rare rough night at the plate, Ben Rice got a rarer day off. The Yankees slugger was out of the lineup Friday for a 6-1 loss against the Red Sox for the first time since May 7, the last of four straight games he missed with a left hand contusion. He went 0-for-1 as a pinch hitter.
