Cubs pitcher Edward Cabrera was carted off the field Tuesday night at Citi Field in the bottom of the fifth inning after he injured himself making a play at first base against the Mets. Chicago revealed after its 9-6 win that Cabrera strained both his left hamstring and left adductor while stretching out to make a catch on a throw to first by second baseman Nico Hoerner, who had to slide to make a play on the line drive hit by Jared Young. Cabrera caught the throw to end the inning, but he quickly rolled over and grabbed at his leg, clearly in pain.
