Hours after the Knicks clinched their first title in more than half a century, the Mets were back at Citi Field in their latest attempt to salvage their season. At times, the park seemed transformed into Madison Square Garden East, complete with plenty of Knicks organ melodies taken straight from the World’s Most Famous Arena. And against the Braves on Sunday, the strategy seemed to work, as the Mets beat their first-place rivals 8-1.
