Critics are blasting a Fresno County proposal to designate June as “Traditional Nuclear Family Month” alongside Pride Month, setting up a heated political fight over family values and the LGBTQ community. The resolution, brought forward by Fresno County Supervisor Garry Bredefeld, defines a nuclear family as a mother and father raising biological, foster or adopted children. Bredefeld said the proposal aims to celebrate traditional families and their place in society.
