A California election worker has allegedly been caught breaking into a locked ballot cabinet and making copies — as questions continue over the legitimacy of the state’s elections. The staffer, who has not been named, is under investigation over the count in Shasta County, north of Sacramento, after the incident was exposed on Tuesday. Officials said the case involved a small number of extra ballots that may have been sent out before Election Day and that it had been reported to the Secretary of State’s office.
