CLEVELAND — The 33rd time was the charm. Top Yankees prospect Spencer Jones hit his first career home run Tuesday in the 33rd at-bat of his rookie season, breaking a scoreless tie in the second inning against the Guardians. Jones hit a 443-blast to the deepest part of Progressive Field, bouncing the ball off a wall and into the shrubbery behind the center field fence.
