Stop & Shop is slashing prices at stores in New York-area stores — with local staples like bagels and smoked salmon coming in as much as 23% below their usual prices as the affordability crisis continues to strain shoppers. The price cuts will roll out across Stop & Shop’s 137 stores in New York and New Jersey — with chain president Roger Wheeler calling it a permanent “pricing reset” so its customers can get some relief. “Our first goal is to really acknowledge where our customers are at right now, and what they’re feeling,” Wheeler told The Post.
