Former EPL defender and family threatened with knife during home robbery in harrowing scene

A former English Premier League (EPL) defender and his family were threatened with a knife and robbed of approximately $177,000 worth of jewelry at their Portugal home Friday, according to The Sun. Jan Bednarek, who plays for Portuguese team Porto and previously suited up for Aston Villa, reportedly returned home from dinner with his wife, Julia, and his daughter when they encountered the robber. They were not harmed, according to the report, and police were called.
