Cubs’ Matthew Boyd needs meniscus surgery after sitting down with his kids

Matthew Boyd is going to be on the shelf for the foreseeable future. But this time it had nothing to do with any on-field injury. The Cubs left-hander is set to undergo meniscus surgery on his left knee, manager Craig Counsell told reporters Wednesday.
