Sixers head coach Nick Nurse was away from the team Tuesday ahead of Game 2 of its second-round playoff series against the Knicks to attend the funeral of his brother Steve, the team told the Philadelphia Inquirer. Steve Nurse, 62, died last Wednesday, April 29, the day before the Sixers’ Game 6 win over the Boston Celtics in the first round. A cause of death was not given, though the Inquirer reported that his passing was unexpected.
